Maker Faire Report

I can’t believe it’s been 2 weeks and I’m just now getting around to posting about Maker Faire. To be fair, I was all caught up with Quilt Market last weekend (which I also still need to post about). Maker Faire is a lot of fun for anyone who likes to make things. Here we are in front of one of several “art cars” that were parked on the fairgrounds. This one had little things glued onto every surface. There was also a car covered with singing fish and lobsters.

Some more of the interesting outdoor exhibits were a life-size Mouse Trap game and a guitar windmill that was powered by a bicycle.

After we had looked around a while, my family took off for the robot wars (which the boys loved) and I headed to the Etsy Texas Crafters booth, where I worked a 4 hour shift. We were basically just telling people about Etsy, promoting our street team, and signing people up for our newsletter. I was amazed at how many people at Maker Faire had never heard of Etsy. We also had some very popular make-and-take projects at our booth, which centered around the theme of upcycling. I met some very nice people and had a great time. The lighting really stunk in the booth area, so sorry for the not-so-great photo.
